Hello! I am new here. I love plants and wanting to learn more about my plants since I am retired. This is a banana plant that was giving to me. Any comments are welcome. I am going to be replanting them in the ground.

i think ur banana plant might be getting too much sun
0 J'aimeThey love fertilizer, so plan to do it regularly. All mine are under full sun growlights indoors
1 j'aimeMine drink a lot of water in the summer
1 j'aimeIt looks healthy but probably had some stress - environmental or mechanical maybe both lol. Anyway, just watch it with water - keep a regular schedule as per bananas plants requirement and area you have it. If you haven’t maybe provide it with some nutrients, they do like fertilizer, they can go potassium heavy. Lastly remove all the dead leaves to help promote new growth, outside removal of stressed ones is fine.
0 J'aimePlant it in the ground if your zone is warm enough. Fertilize regularly and don’t let them dry out like the previous owner had these. I add bark mulch around the base because summer temperatures can be over 100°F and dry out the soil too quickly. Im in zone 9. My banana plants die down with the first frost and return in spring. Six days of snow didn’t kill them last winter. They were a little slow to recover.
0 J'aimeWhat soil and fertilizer works best? I just got a banana plant and am new to this
0 J'aimeI just use Miracle Gro. My plants are in the ground. They put up new shoots each year. It’s just standard yard dirt. I didn’t add special soil. I would use a mix of standard potting mix with a succulent mix or mix in lots of perlite for potted bananas. Banana plants use a lot more water because of the thick fleshy trunks. Just let the soil dry before watering again.
