I have had a Chinese money tree for at least a year. Growing and new leaves are showing. I am wondering if it needs repotting. I am concerned to put it in too big of a pot. I am noticing that some of the leaves seem to have an issue. It’s in a north east facing window about 6 feet away. I water when the soil is dry and I do spray a couple of times a week. The leaves are a new issue. Does anyone know if it is time to repot or suggestions.

I’m not a big fan of misting. Water on the leaves can cause fungal infections and if done during the day time can cause sunburn when the light hits it. That could be part of the problem but it’s hard to say. The pot doesn’t look too big but they have super delicate root systems so you could go for a shallower pot if you want. They also hold a lot of water in their woody trunks so I wait until the soil is dry like you said but I even wait another week before giving a good watering. But honestly the bottom leaves yellow on my money tree all the time so what do I know

Thank you for comments. When I repotted the roots are very small. There are still new leaves growing so I won’t be as concerned about the bottom ones

As far as repotting you can take it out and look at the roots. If there's more roots than soil its time to go 1 or 2 inches bigger. If not then wait until spring. Also its by a north facing window so it's probably to dark for it. Thats what i think is the problem. It's to dark unless you live on the other side of the world where north facing windows are very bright. So just check out the roots and see whats going on...
