Hi!! I rescued this guy from a Lowe’s about two months ago, he’s got some new growth but I just noticed this hole in the leaf. Is this due to a bug? How do I prevent it from happening to my other plants? It’s currently sharing a shelf with ivy so I’m not super concerned about it affecting that but I don’t want it to spread to my orchid or money tree. Please help!

If it is bugs id put it in isolation... if not i may just be an old leaf and you can just cut it off and go about your buisness with it... id put it in a different room for a few days and keep an eye on it, if you see any bugs than spray with neem oil and water mixture if no bugs than it will be fine to reture... or if you just wanna be safe you can go ahead and spray and isolate and keep an eye on it

It looks like mechanical damage. Was this a newer leaf unfurling? If so, it could be low humidity or mishandled by people/pets. Check if you see chew marks along the edges of the opening. Then, it was probably a critter. There are brown spots and edges on three other leaves. It could be a watering issue as in the plant drying out too much between watering.
