Can anyone recommend a good humidifier method for extremely tall plants? For reference, I have a fiddle leaf fig that is over 11ft tall & has recently started showing some minor signs of damage from dry air on some of the leaves. My apartment’s AC system runs very dry & as we approach the summer months the AC will definitely be running much more often. I’ve set up my humidifier on a tall ladder next to the tree to allow the moisture to flow from the top down for the time being; however, I’m looking for a more practical solution here. Thanks!! :)

Could you put a shelf on the wall behind it to put the humidifier on?

Hmm! Possibly. That’s a great suggestion! The main challenge with that is the wall is solid brick & I don’t think my landlord would appreciate me drilling into it so I’d need to get creative. Thanks!!

Oh. That’s a good point. I have hung very small shelves with command strips but I would worry about the brick texture and weight of the humidifier. I wonder if you could do a creative hanging shelf from the ceiling (if it’s drywall and easy to repair)?

Something like this? It appears there’s lots available or if you’re crafty you might be able to make one. Also - gives more room for plants! 🤣🤣🤣

Haha, I honestly love this idea but my ceilings are unusually tall & are solid wood beams (I think the building is a converted factory/warehouse). Hanging anything from the ceilings would be far above my skill level! If I can’t find a way to securely hang a shelf directly on the wall, I may look for a way to just run an inconspicuous hose from the humidifier on the floor and up the wall to the top of the plant.

I hope you find a solution, because you’re definitely in a tough situation. What have you done in past summers?

Would it be possible to hang a humidifier on a string or something hung from the window panes? It may be easier to hang command hooks on the window and somehow point it to the plant.

Do you have a plant shelf or bookshelf? You could put on top of it as the fiddle leaf is so tall and other plants on the shelf could benefit from the humidifier as well?

Great looking plant. Perhaps get a retracting light pole photographers use and mount the humidifier with tie wraps on top. Add weights to bottom of tripod legs if humidifier is too heavy up there. Good luck!
