Does anyone know what is wrong with my fishbone plant? I got it off Etsy, it came as one plant but it’s obviously two different put in one pot. One is perfectly fine and healthy but the other isn’t. When I first got it I thought maybe the seller cut off brown tips, but now that I’ve had it a few months, the two new leaves the “bad” side has put off are disfigured. It doesn’t have any pests. Any help would be appreciated!! Thank you!

The soil looks really wet. Did you just water it or has it been like that since you got it? Also does it sleep/live next to an open window at night when it’s cold?

I just watered it. No, it’s not next to a window. It came like this, two of the leaves look like they have been cut but I don’t think they were.

And the soil I use it’s really dark, so it’s actually not that wet.

Looks like overwatering to me too. One plant may be more sensitive to it. Check the roots for rot. Let the soil thoroughly dry between watering. The leaves drooping and forming scrolls are an indication the plant needs water. My picture shows the scrolling leaves. My plant is more than ready for water. Your plant is droopy and not scrolling, so, it’s not under watered. My plant is in a 4” pot. There are about 6 plants in the tiny pot. I water about once a week.

It’s definitely not over watered, I always air on the side of caution when watering. And like I said, it came like this. But in the two months I’ve had it, the new leaves are disfigured. It looks like bugs were eating all around the leaves but it doesn’t have any pests. I was wondering if it has some kind of disease.

The leaves are dropping like this because it’s during the day, at night they stand straight up. They aren’t drooping and soft, they are stiff. If that makes sense. It’s a type of prayer plant.

Check for root rot and repot. Use a chunky potting mix to allow better drainage
