my angel’s wing has mealy bugs!! i have isolated it and am routinely inspecting/spot killing with diluted rubbing alcohol. i’ve also added bonide systemic granules to the soil. is there anything else i can do? I haven’t seen any of the cottony egg sacks, but i’m keeping an eye out to kill those too. i feel like just spot killing will keep me behind, like playing whack a mole. also, are these brown things on the stems normal? they kinda come off with some force and rubbing alcohol…

    I use insecticidal soap after the alcohol swab treatment. Then respray about every five days for a few weeks. The Bonide takes a while to start working. At least a week.

    Mealybugs are most vulnerable to pesticides when young, and they spend about 3 days as eggs and 4-5 days as juveniles. As long as you retreat about once a week you'll get them. Touch any adults with an alcohol soaked q-tip and physically remove them. The total lifespan of a mealybug is about 32 days, so if you manage to go two months without any signs of them, you're done

      And the brown texture is normal. Also keep an eye on the plant; sometimes pesticides can burn them along with the bugs
