Hi all 👋🏾👋🏾 I need ANY help or advice for my poor money tree. A few weeks ago, I gave it a nice shower and left it out on the patio for a couple hours and then over night. I was receiving direct sunlight while outside. It was a bit wilted so I figured maybe it would come back once I moved it back in the house. But unfortunately, it’s just gotten worse. It’s been sunburned and this will be the first time I’m repotting it. I’m going to use a soil good for cactus, palm, and citrus which should also be good for succulents (at least that’s what the bag says). I’m not sure if I’ve waited too late or if she still has a chance. Can anyone suggest anything or maybe have some kind words? 🙃 HELP 😵‍💫😵‍💫

start with cutting off the dead leaves then just like make sure it doesn’t have root rot

I’ve cut all the dead leaves and stems…but what would be an indicator of root rot?

the roots would smell really bad and they would be mushy

Got ya…there was one of the trunks that’s a little soft but no crazy smell or mushy. So I guess that’s a good sign ☺️

root rot spreads so you should cut that part off

The roots look a lot better than I was expecting after seeing the first pic!! Good news! The plant should come back to life with time. I would make sure to cut all dead stuff. Even the vines that connect leaf and stems to the main trunks. I’ve seen money trees cut all the way back to the trunks and they regrow. You’re good if you want to wait it out. (My local Home Depot has these for ~$40 in case you just want to replace.

How cold did it get at night? If below 50 it could be cold shock and it’s pretty hard to bounce back from that but time will tell. I wouldn’t repot while it’s already stressed unless it wasn’t in good soil. Just be sure to do a pot only 1-2 inches larger than the root ball.

I’m pretty sure it didn’t get below 50. Yeah the pot is the right size as well

I’m fairly new to plants myself, but I’m so sorry that happened. I don’t know how to help, but I’ve already lost a couple of plants. It’s frustrating, and I hope your money tree recovers. Best of luck! 🪴
