Best way to get rid of mealybugs on my African Violet? I know they don’t like their leaves wet and the bugs are way down in the center. I’ve killed off all visible ones. It’s isolated from other plants.

I use “Mighty Mint” combination neem oil and peppermint oil to spray on plants and, when needed, Bonide systemic houseplant insect control granules mixed into the potting soil.

1 LikeAs long as you only use the alcohol for spot treatments, it should be fine. Just be vigilant and kill new mealies every time you see them. You can replace the soil to get rid of any eggs that may be hiding in there. They take about 5 days to go from egg to reasonably visible size, and their total lifespan is about 31 days. If you don't see any for two months, they're definitely gone
