Good morning! Does anyone have any idea why roots sticking out of the bottom of the pot could have fuzzy stuff (I’m assuming mold) on it? It’s on my snake plant..

Fuzzy stuff is still the root. However if it smells funny it could be root rot or the minerals in your water draining to the bottom so it looks white

I don’t know for sure, but some plants’ roots look fuzzy until they get into whatever medium they’re growing in. I’ve always heard them called air roots, but if it’s that it isn’t a problem.

The white stuff could just be mineral buildup, the roots look healthy

If it’s mold then it’s just because the plant stays relatively humid & I dont feel like that’s really an issue unless there’s a lot on there. You can always clean roots with hydrogen peroxide then rinse them off if you’re worried, it won’t hurt the plant. But If it’s white then it might just be a mineral build up from unfiltered water.
