Ficus Melany. Any thoughts as to why the leaves are turning yellow/brown? Sits in an unobstructed east window and gets quite a bit of morning light. The soil feels completely dry right now (two knuckles in) even though I just watered a few days ago. A lot of water comes out of the drainage hole. Should I bottom water in the shower tub?

East window might not be enough light for this plant. Also have you checked the soil? Is it hydrophobic? Top or bottom watering shouldn’t really matter because everything should be saturated when you water

Definitely try letting it soak up water. I’d water from the top and let it sit in the water. You can also use a chop stick or something similar to poke holes in the top of the soil and help aerate it. Are the other leaves firm? If they are it could be trying to tell you also that it needs a repot. But I’d try letting it soak up water first

I like this plan! Reevaluate from there. You should water until it runs through the drainage, but if it’s running through very quickly it likely means you’ve got pockets of very dry soil in the pot. a bottom water might help resaturate the soil to make top watering more effective in future
