Hi my mother recently gave me a plant she was hoping I could rehab for her. I have it quarantined and it has these moth things coming out from the soil, nothing on the leaves. I’m unsure if whiteflies or just moths??

I don't know what it is, but I do know that it is not a white fly.

It looks like a clothes moth!! That's so crazy it's in the soil. I think you need a spray for the adults. But it sounds like from online you can use an insecticidal soap for eggs and larva. You may want to repot, bag up the soil and toss it outside

I've only ever dealt with them on clothes(if it is them) and it's a spray for adults and the eggs and larvae you just wash in hot water. Obviously not helpful for plants

I would simply cease to exist if that crawled out of my plant pot
