My peperomia has been losing leaves for weeks. I tried everything from moving its location to changing the soil but today I finally decided to just cut what was left and propagate it, and then repot the stems into a smaller pot. Please let me know any tips to try and get this little guy healthier. I’m also not entirely sure if the original stems will still leaf, but I repotted them anyways.

So sorry to hear about the problems you’ve been having with your peperomia. For the leaves, I would try propagating them in soil. (This is because I’ve found from my peperomias that they propagate much easier in soil than water, and in much less time) For the stems with remaining roots and leaves, remove the old soil, spray the ends of the leaves and roots on the stems with hydrogen peroxide (the peroxide will kill any possible bacteria from overwatering or rot and bring more oxygen to the roots), gently pat it dry after 10 minutes, then put some Bonide’s Rooting Hormone Powder on the roots of the stems and ends of the leaves. This will help the stems and leaves form roots. Then place them all back into some cactus mix, and water. I would bottom water everything to allow the roots and cuttings to settle, which means placing the pots both pieces of the plant would be in into a bowl or container, filling it with water, and letting the pots sit in the water for 10-20 minutes, then taking it out to drain in a sink or dry over a terra cotta saucer. Bottom water it will draw the roots from the stem cuttings to the bottom, helping it form a stronger root system, and the rooting powder will help all the pieces rebuild their root systems. I get my Bonide’s Rooting Hormone powder at my local plant nurseries or Ace Hardware, but I’m sure you could find it in the Garden Centers of Lowe’s, Home Depot, or Walmart. Hope this helps.

Should I water down the hydrogen peroxide?

There’s no need. Hydrogen peroxide once exposed to light naturally breaks down into water and oxygen, which makes it great for treating rot on plants without risk of harming it

Any updates on your peperomia? Still need any help with it?

Unfortunately it died. It probably had a disease of some sort, so I just couldn’t save it. Thank you for your help though
