Mosquito Bits! Just follow the package directions and make sure they’re fully dissolved in the water
1 mi piaceI fully agree. MICROBE-LIFT BMC Biological Mosquito Control is the liquid form of Mosquito Bits. Both contain the beneficial bacteria BTi that kills the larvae in the soil ending the life cycle. Sticky traps kills the adults. Also, check the moisture content of the soil that is attracting the gnats to the pots. Try adding more aggregates like perlite to help with drainage. Use soil without peat or sphagnum moss. Both mosses hold water longer than a coconut husk soil or bark chips. 🪴🍀
0 Mi piaceTHEY ALSO RUINED MINE TOO 😭 tbh… i had tried everything. i mean everything and researched and researched. i tried mosquito bits, sticky traps, hydrogen peroxide mix, gnat spray, neem oil, spraying plants down every so often, quarantining, etc etc etc. nothing worked for me except repotting all of my plants. they spread fast and will hide so well in the soil. repotting imo is a must to truly get rid of them for good. purchase good soil too, i use rosy brand. do not buy miracle grow bc that’s what did it for me. i keep sticky traps still out bc im scared it’ll happen again, but since i repotted, i haven’t seen a gnat since! i am grateful to repot and supported my plants with what they needed after repot, bc some were stressed! but we got through and are thriving again after 3 weeks repotting. i hope you get rid of them annoying things fast too!

I’ve used mosquito dunks with good success. Also a cup with apple cider vinegar and a drop of dish soap. My Venus fly trap has even caught a couple, but the first two options work better. I agree that the miracle grow soil is full of them
1 mi piaceI used happy happy houseplant death drops and they worked like a charm!
0 Mi piaceI always use with new plants and put on top of soil every month of all plants. No more gnats.
1 mi piaceI also use the death drops when watering. Spray 70% alcohol on all plants weekly. All bug infestation prevention.
0 Mi piacei would also say to invest in a zevo trap if you’re able to plug it up close to your plants. i’ve had the same issue and agree with all of the comments above but would like to put the opinion in about the trap, i’ve seen a tremendous difference in gnats around my plants but ive also started bottom watering most of the ones that i know will handle it because the gnats are attracted to the wet soil at the top of the pot

You can spray the top layer of your soil with neem, like heavily spray. It doesn’t necessarily affect the adults but all the eggs they lay in the soil will die after neem. It also prevents them from reestablishing in the soil because of the smell. It’s what I usually have on hand - if it’s minor, just spray. If it’s intense and you see them on the sides of the pot, you can do a drench (water your plant with neem mix diluted)
0 Mi piaceI also recently had gnats which wouldn’t go away. Mosquito bites helped a lot along with neem oil, zeevo fly traps, yellow sticky traps, and hydrogen peroxide. Although the only way to wipe out all the gnats is to repot if the situation gets too bad.
