I got a giant taro today, I was wondering. Is it normal that the leaves/stem are really dark? I impulsively bought it

    I’ve seen Alocasia Regal Shield plants with one or two partially dark stems.

    Yes, there's a few variety with darker stems. Like Alocasia Black stem or Dark Star. And Colocasia fontanesii

    I agree there are several varieties that have very dark stems and leaves.
