Anyone use horticultural charcoal in their soil mixes? Do you see any benefit? I don’t think my soil is chunky enough and I’m considering adding some charcoal to it.

    Yes i use it but i don't have anymore so this year i haven't used it and honestly, i don't see a difference other then its chunckier.

    Yes, its part of my chunky and cactus mixes i make. It contributes a wide variety of things to the mixes. It won't contribute chunk really, since most horticulture charcoal is more powdery. But it does improve drainage and oxygen pockets in the soil just through its make up.
