Is this a pest issue? I bought this plant about a week and a half ago and just watered for the first time yesterday. I woke up this morning to find another leaf turning like this

Yeah it looks like it, I would spray all the roots with a pesticide and use some sticky traps

it could be but it looks like it’s the lowest leaf and those are the oldest and die off first. it’s hard to tell from the photo but could those be thrips on that leaf?

i’m not too sure, there’s white dots on a lot of the leaves but i scratch them and they don’t move or come off

are the white spots only on the oldest leaves? or the newer leaves too?

oh you have a ficus! those white spots are normal for ficus plants. phew, haha. when you watered it, did you check the soil first? was it completely dry?

wow, I’m rather stumped. ficus can be very finicky so perhaps it wasn’t watered consistently before you had it and it’s now deciding to throw a fit. so sorry I wasn’t any help! if I find anything else out, I’ll let you know.

Did you check for a completely dry soil with a wooden skewer to the bottom of the soil because the leaves look like they are over watered? The other possibility is stress from coming into a new environment causing leaf drop. I recommend just leaving it alone in one spot for awhile letting it adjust. Let the soil dry out before watering again.

oh wait, how much sun is it getting? ficus like A LOT of sunlight. my two ficus are close to a south window and get direct sunlight.

      should i repot maybe?

I would definitely check the roots. no need to repot, per se. if the roots are rooting, I would propagate the plant and try to save it that way.
