Help! My mini Esther is in a shaded area of my living room and gets a fair amount of indirect light each day. I’ve been also watering her according to Planta instructions. However, the stems and leaves have been browning and falling off and it’s not growing so it’s lost a lot of volume and length. It’s progressively getting worse. I know once I left it in an inch of water for too long but otherwise I’ve always waited until it’s like 60-80% ish dry before watering it. I read online that it could be under watering, overwatering, or not enough sun, but that Esther’s do better in shade. What am I doing wrong?

Thank you! Maybe I should increase. I sometimes skip watering because the soil still feels wet but maybe it’s actually just damp and I’m thinking it’s still wet lol

i’ve heard these are really easy to grow in water if you’ve ever thought about that!!

Although on second thought I’ve found videos online that say it needs more sun and is fairly drought tolerant. I’m so torn.

mine had started to do that, so i chopped and propped in water and it grew really well! (the only reason it died was because of vacation and it didnt get watered 🫠) good luck!

It was this exact ivy? See now I’m reading online that they’re very drought tolerant. I’m feeling so torn 😕

mine looked a lot like yours, but i had identified it as a different one - hedera helix are the brown leaves crunchy or soft/squishy? if theyre soft itll be overwatering. i have a hard time thinking itll be underwatering, as planta often suggests watering too often, so its better to use it as reminders, rather than a strict schedule.

They’re crunchy and frail! Maybe I’m not watering enough because I’ll skip if the water feels too damp to me

I come across conflicting information about plants ALL THE TIME and it’s quite frustrating. No answers for you, just commiseration!
