When this happens to mine, it’s either because I let the soil dry out too much before watering again or the leaves got wet. When they’re indoors, tradescantia leaves are really sensitive to any water touching their leaves and they die off. You can trim off the some of the dead leaves and any extra bare stems to help the plant refocus its energy on new healthy growth.

Are the brown leaves in the shaded side of the pot? Then, that side needs more light. Add a grow light or regularly rotate the pot. Did the soil dry out completely? Then, the leaves will be crispy. The brown leaves will be soft and pliable with over watering. I recommend eradicating the fungus gnats with Mosquito Buts just in case the fungus gnat larvae are eating the roots. Check the roots for damage. 🪴🍀

This happens to mine no matter how good about watering I am. After continually chopping and propping I’ve given up and decided to grow her in water. Sorry I don’t have good advice but just wanted to let you know it’s very common
