Anyone know what’s happening to my Polly? I got it last week and it did not look like this. The pot was sopping wet and I let her dry out on her own while she acclimates to the house and I kinda regret not repotting right away bc now one of the leaves has this going on and the other leaves have small spots of yellow with brown in the middle and they’re flaking but none of the other leaves look this bad. The pup in the pop is totally unscathed and the 2 new leaves are currently unfurling but I do see a few brown spots on it here and there on the new ones. Is it from it being overwatered? She’s in partial sun partial shade, about 2 feet from the window and on a table top I do plan on repotting her tomorrow after work I just wanted to know if anybody knew what this was because I’ve never seen anything like this with my frydeks thank u all in advance! 🫶

yes probably due to over watering! i think she might have some root rot! when you go to repot make sure to get some clippers out and ready to chop some of those roots off! they will be brown and stinky! for the time being you could put her in front of a fan to dry out the soil a bit

Perfect thank u! I’ve been super busy so I haven’t been able to tend to her the way I planned on it but life got in the way and I just wanna save her. I’m not worried if I have to revive her that can be done! I know the stems still feel pretty strong, no mushy or soft petioles all pretty firm still. No edema or anything happening least from what I’ve seen but then again I’m not sure what she’s going thru when I’m at work! 😭 will definitely be repotting tomorrow, maybe even tonight now. Thank u so much 🫶

I would also try moving her a little further from direct sunlight and maybe increase the humidity (misting or a humidifier). Mine did this when I brought her home and now she’s perfection! They definitely don’t like to swim so I’d cut back on watering, they’re easier to overwater! You could also try using distilled water if you’re using tap right now. Best of luck and happy gardening!

I literally haven’t watered it since I got her! Haha I know they’re easy to overwater and I know my frydek has never looked like this so I was so caught off guard. Her soil is still pretty moist within the top inch but I will def be repotting tonight lol I wanted to put her in more sun but I was scared maybe it would be too much and she’s already stressed so I didn’t wanna stress her out more 😭 but now I will go home and repot, give her sum more light and just let her be for awhile! Hahaha however I do notice how different my Polly is compared to my frydek and just wanted to be sure it wasn’t something fungal or something 😭 hoping and praying it’s just overwatered 😭 I might end up just making her another office plant just so I can monitor a lot more. I also have so much sunny indirect lighting here too. My frydek thrives in my office!! Humidity and all. She might end up moving there too! 😭
