Can anyone help me save my poor pepperspot peperomia? She has just been in steady decline since I got her. She wasn’t doing well so I repotted her with a chunky soil. I used the hormone powder on her roots to help minimize shock. I only water when she’s dry on the top two inches of soil and make sure she gets the right amount of sun in my eastern facing window. Maybe I just have to wait a bit and leave her alone since she was repotted? Since then she keeps losing leaves every day. Any other recommendations? She’s my favorite and the only plant I have that is really struggling.

Are the leaves squishy or firm when you squeeze them? Have you checked her roots? She looks a bit over grown and could use a little trim/ clean up to ensure there’s air flow through the leaves and the sun is touching the top of the pot

The healthy leaves are firm, not squishy. When I repotted her I thought her roots looked OK, not TBH I’m not sure. They didn’t smell bad as I’ve read can happen. It’s interesting you said she was overgrown as I was thinking she looked bald and sparse. Do you think I should trim down anything that doesn’t look as healthy?

lol I think we are both saying the same thing in a different way: I meant it looks like there’s a fair amount of leggy growth without leaves, I would unwind the strands and trim some that are sparse/ don’t look as nice and then she should start putting out new leaf growth 🤞🏻 I just got one of these plants so I’m still new to the care but I’m treating mine like a tropical succulent. Lots of light and water when shes dried out, going a little deeper than the 2” marker.

I have the same issue with mine. Like she’s fighting to survive not sure what to do but I haven’t given up hope!

It sounds like she’s going through the process of shock despite the rooting powder being added 😢 It can happen even with rooting powder, but that should help it from shocking the roots to the point of detachment, so it sounds like it’s deciding to go through shock through shedding some leaves instead of shedding its root system. That doesn’t mean she’s gonna die, though. It’s natural for them to lose a lot of leaves if they’re going through shock. Think of it kinda like when leaves fall off of trees in the winter. They’re shedding that excess foliage until they have the energy to support it again. For now, I’d just leave it alone. Unless you start seeing signs of root rot, just keep it somewhere with a stable temperature, away from drafts or ac units or direct light that might shock it more, and expect that it might lose some leaves for a few more days. Eventually it’ll stop and you can trim the leggy spots off between the spots where leaves were to promote branching and new leaves once it’s recovered.
