I am not sure what type of orchid this is (I’ve attached a picture of it when it had flowers), but I have had it for about 3 months now. I received it as a gift and . It’s been doing pretty well, however recently the end of the branch/stem is turning yellow and brown. Can anyone tell me what I need to do to stop this???

The stalk is supposed to die off once the blooms fall. It’s a normal part of an orchids life cycle. People typically cut them back to the base. When the orchid blooms next year it will grow a new stalk!

That stalk is totally normal. If you cut it between nodes above where the yellowing is it can grow a side stalk and bloom again. You can let the stalk die all the way back but then you have to wait for an entirely new node to grow and they only grow new nodes if there are 2 leaves above the node. But short answer- don’t worry. The plant looks great and is doing what is it supposed to do.
