SOS HELP PLEASE!! I’ve had this corn plant for 5 years now and it’s done so well. These past few weeks it’s been shedding some bottom leaves so I’ve been thinking it’s just growing but now the stalk looks dried out and more leaves are going. Roots look ok and the soil isn’t wet at all. Can it be saved?!?!

My first thought was this was scales but I’m not actually sure. Did you change anything at all in its care schedule?

I moved it to another room south facing window with a grow light back in October as it’s been a grey winter.

I think it needs more water! It might lost those leaves but if you up your waterings it’ll come back!

If the soil is really dry and the leaves look shriveled it might just be really thirsty

Thanks everyone! I went a little crazy and chopped it. I think it may be a mineral build up from water even though I use filtered water. It’s all through the stems and it was watered maybe 2 weeks ago? I took a cutting and we will see if it roots.
