Need help figuring out what’s wrong with my Monstera- it looked like this when I got it from Home Depot and it’s been around 2 weeks now and it hasn’t gotten any better. I repotted it into a bigger pot the day I brought it back, and it does have drainage. One leaf has the yellowing and the other leaf is really droopy. I’ve been misting and watering as recommended by Planta but it hasn’t looked any better :( Any idea on what’s wrong?

Planta often gets the watering schedule wrong, so I go by feel and use the app as a reminder. I like using the chopstick method for determining whether to water or not. You just take a plain wooden, unvarnished chopstick and stick it in your pot as far as it goes. Depending on how damp the end of it feels, and the type of plant, I decide if it needs watering. I know it sounds a bit complicated, but I promise that it works and will help prevent overwatering. Good luck and happy growing! 🪴

Also, your plant is probably in shock both from the new environment and from repotting. You just want to get the watering right, and give this big guy a little more time to adjust to its new home.

A couple observations. Overall, the plant looks fine. The yellowing leaf appears to be the oldest, and it looks like there may be a new leaf just starting to pop out. It’s not uncommon for a plant to shed a leaf as it grows a new one. You may have her in too large of a pot atm. You want the pot to be just larger than the root ball. And you want to make sure it’s in a chunky soil. Monsteras are susceptible to root rot, so you want a nice airy mix and you can let it fully dry out between waterings. Lastly, if I were you I would add a stake or moss pool now so it has something to climb and you can direct its growth. :)

Looks like a nice monstera to me. The “drooping” leaf is looking out the window- the leaves will move to get maximum sun exposure. For it to flatten out or lift up it will need light above it. The yellow leaf is an OLD leaf. It is a normal change. If your top or new leaves are yellowing that is a concern. This one is ok. I use a humidifier, misting is not useful at all for raising humidity. My girl puts out a new leaf every other week and I swear I water her about 10-12 days apart if that and she has a humidifier right next to her and is happy with that.
