Hey, all, I’ve noticed these little growths on the trunk of my umbrella tree. Not sure what they are, guessing they’re not good though. I’ve also noticed some white, tiny, little bugs on the leaves. Otherwise, the plant seems really really happy. Any thoughts?

Not 100% sure but the bugs would be thrips I think. I’m not sure about the growth you’re getting so no help there, I’m sorry! Hopefully you get an answer.

Not sure about the four in a row but those look like arial roots developing to me! I found an article on umbrella tree bonsai and they had some pictures of more developed ones. I don’t think this is related to the bugs!

I went to my local nursery and showed him the picture. He said those are actually skeletons of the bugs. The thrips or the gnats or whatever they are come out of those and fly away.
