These leaves are not quite as far gone, if that helps?

That’s very weird looking. As the other commenter said, I’d suspect bacterial/fungal. Check the roots, quarantine, and remove any affected leaves.

Do you think it’s possible that this damage has been caused by thrips?

Those leaves look better but definitely still affected by something, I’m not sure I’d say pests given that it’s every leaf and if you’re only gone a week that’s not something that would happen that fast. That would be like a year without oversight. Like the other commenter said, definitely take it out of the pot, remove the leaves, I’d trim back the roots, make sure they’re not rotted in the middle, soak them in hydrogen peroxide and water for a good hour or two, repot in new soil, maybe even take some chop and props if you’re scared of losing the whole plant

Okay, as weird as it was that the infestation happened so fast, I did some more digging as I even found a couple bugs on one leaf - it’s thrips 😭 I found lovethatleaf.co.nz had some really helpful photos on their article, “How to get rid of thrips on indoor plants.” Eek!
