I mean, just remove the spider and clean off the plant. If doing that isn’t worth it to you or if it still gives you an icky feeling then toss it. No need to hold onto negativity :)

Trash does work lol. If you want to treat it, #1 thing is make sure it’s quarantined away from your other plants ASAP and check any plants that were close to it for mites as well. Spider mites die with rubbing alcohol. You can use 70% on a paper towel or qtip to direct treat any visible mites you see. You can also take the plant into the shower or outside and spray it down with a strong spray to manually remove the mites. After spraying down, I personally make a pest spray for my plants consisting of: water, peppermint Castile soap (most people use tea tree castile as well, I just don’t have any), rubbing alcohol, and hydrogen peroxide. I spray it all over the leaves and stems until it’s dripping then set the plant aside to dry. I do try to avoid getting this mixture into the soil/roots too much, but a little bit hasn’t hurt any of them yet. The ratio is 4cups water, 1/4cup soap, 1/4cup 70% alcohol, 1/2Tbsp peroxide.

A common spider will eat fungus gnats, mealybugs and other ‘harmful’ insects. It probably made a home because it found food pests your yellow sticky traps might have missed.
