I got this Monstera Deliciosa Aurea today and of the 2 in the store I simply chose this one because it was surprisingly in better health. This one has damaged to both of the slightly matured leaves, the new leaf coming out has some nasty brown discoloration, there’s that same sad brown on the largest leaf, and he’s a really droopy baby 😞😞😞 can anybody tell me what’s up with everything? Ps. My new mint monstera is less and less variegated every newer leaf, what can I do to help return the variegation?

    I would check the roots first since it could be a root or water issue. For the mint if it still has variegation on the stems it might just need some more light. If it’s completely green it has probably reverted and you might have to chop it

      The stem is definitely made its way to being green and I was worried I’d have to chop. I’ll definitely have more light for it

    aurea had a watering issue. you look to have a white monster based on the bottom leaf, which are notorious for reverting and need to be pruned regularly to maintain the high variegation. they're unstable like albos. some people say it's just something they do as juveniles but i've yet to see a mature white monster sooo... 🤷 can't confirm

      Are we thinking too much or too little? Given the current droopy I’m thinking it’s thirst but given the browning I’m thinking it was overwatered prior so it’s difficult

      i think overwatering. damage to unfurling leaves is rot from moisture

      I popped him out the pot and the roots seemed okay. I put him outside and watered since the top half was dry
