My dracaena is drooping quite a bit. I’ve been following the watering routine. This app has given me and I placed it under a grow light. Am I doing something wrong? Is there something else I should be doing?

How bigger is your plant compared to the pot? Sometimes the pot can be too big or if roots are overgrown too small

From the base of the plant to the outside of the pot is about 3 inches on both sides. It already had established route whenever I repotted it.

You might want to size down. Being in a pot too big can lead to over watering.

It’s critical that you check your soil first before watering, and if you have to either snooze or skip the task. I have found it helpful to stick a bamboo skewer to the bottom of the pot and leave it for a second, when you pull it out, it should not feel damp or wet. It can be saved though… Just lay off the watering a bit, and it should bounce back.

I’ve never had a problem with the app watering schedule. Probably because my mix is super chunky. But that’s why they have the snooze button. If it’s not dry yet snooze it for a few days. Water when dry. I have this exact plant. That’s it’s growth pattern. It doesn’t grow upwards. The leaves are long and strappy. They hang.

I don’t think that’s true. Most people new to plants rarely use a chunky mix. But the more you get into plants the more likely you are to learn to amend your soil to make it more airy and fast draining. Even you amend your soil. I learned by watching others. people who have way more plants then I have. We’re alway trying to give our plants the type of water and humidity that they would receive in their natural environment. Plants are hardly ever in the soil offered in bagged soil mixes when in their natural environment. But people are free to do whatever they want. I’m an over waterer. So this works for me.
