   It’s hard to tell in your photo, but mealy bugs are really small. Are they white and almost fuzzy looking? If so, it might be mealy bugs! Left is a live mealy bug, right is a dead mealy bug after it was touched with an alcohol soaked q-tip.

   The white mesh on the right picture looks like mealy bugs. It seems elephant bush are highly prone as I have them also. When planted as part of an assortment, the mealy bugs favored my elephant bush more than the others succulents. I ended up separating them all and combined these into their own pot to better treat and quarantine. The bugs on mine are white with that spidery mesh they leave behind. If it’s just a few, take a q-tip dipped in rubbing alcohol to remove the bugs and mesh. If it’s an infestation, then you’ll need to spray thoroughly with neem oil spray (diluted if concentrate). You may need to do this several times. Mine are now more under control but need to assess often. Good luck!

   I agree with mealy bugs. I’m not sure if this plant tolerates isopropyl alcohol but I’ve had the best luck just spraying that everywhere to kill them since it can get all in the crevices and then evaporates.

   I have a standard treatment I use for mealy bugs that seems to work. You need to cover their entire life cycle. First you must quarantine. Do alcohol swab routine, then spray with a solution to kill the bugs you didn’t find. I spray every 4 to 5 days for three weeks. That should eradicate all the bugs and cover their entire life cycle. My bug spray of choice is Systemica or Insecticidal Soap. I don’t use neem on succulents anymore because I’ve killed several of my plants using it. I have about 140 succulents and this is the routine I use. You can set up a custom task within the app so that you don’t forget to spray.

   I agree with being cautious about using neem oil on succulents. You want to avoid it on ones that have a chalky powdery protective layer, which many succulents do. The ones that are shiny without the powdery layer, neem oil spray is ok. But there are other insecticides out there that may be more effective.

   Thank you all so much!!! I quarantined her and checked on my other plants as well! Definitely think it’s mealy bugs and think I got most of them with rubbing alcohol. I also sprayed her with some pest spray after so I’m hoping it works out and I can get rid of them all! 🤞🤞🤞
