I saw a video a while back that told me that Marantas need filtered water, can anyone confirm?

    Yes- the chemicals in tap will build up and they will suddenly decline quickly after that using tap water. I speak from experience😬. Took me a lot of work and many months to bring mine back after switching to distilled.

    Totally agree, I was using filtered water and it still threw a hissy fit. I'm still trying to get it to look nice again now I'm using distilled water.

    Yes, they are sensitive to lime and salt buildup. Use rainwater R.O. or distilled for the best results.

    It turns out that tap water was the reason my marantas developed dry, brown tips. I was so frustrated because the humidity was high and the light wasn’t too intense, so I couldn’t figure out what was wrong. Apparently, marantas can be sensitive to tap water. Filtered water works much better, and I like to add a little fertilizer to it when I water them. Letting water sit only helps remove chlorine—it doesn’t remove the minerals and salts that may still cause issues over time.

    They also like indirect light and burn easily. The leaves that are in the direct path of the sunlight may be getting sunburned.
