I recently found these white patches stuck to my poinsettia and I’m not sure what they are. I thought they were mealy bugs but they don’t seem to be alive, and they literally feel like they are glued on. Does anyone know what this is? Thank you!

it could be stick sap which is used go attract goof bugs. But it can mean there are scale bugs on it i would check for them. It could also be there because it may be flowering and trying to attract pollinators. If they are mealys then take rubbing alcohol on a q-tip and dap the spots with it if they turn brown than they are mealys.

Thanks for all the helpful information. Unfortunately, they turned brown when I touched them with alcohol. 🫤 Guess I need to figure out how to get rid of them next. 🤦🏻‍♀️
