Hello, For the past three months, all of my Coleus and Ivy have been turning black and drying out, starting from the bottom up. The stems emerging from the soil darken first, then the discoloration moves upward, causing the leaves to dry. I’ve always been passionate about my plants, but I’m not sure what suddenly went wrong, some are still healthy, but about half have died. I usually water them once a week and have been using pure Miracle-Gro indoor potting soil for the past three years. I’m also new to this app and exploring, hoping to find a convincing answer. Any ideas from you experienced plant lovers? I’d really appreciate the help!

I think you should unpot them and check the roots for rot. Some of those plants need a chunkier soil than straight miracle grow. And could have been staying to wet. If there's black happening you also may be dealing with fungal. You can spray with 1:3 parts peroxide:water every 3 days

Fungus gnats can kill off your plants in addition to the excess moisture in the soil that helps them to thrive. You have to treat them. Search the older posts. There are many discussions on treating fungus gnats.
