Hi I bought these plant in a farmers market 2 months ago they are now leaning to one side and tipping the pot they are in unless I just watered it and the pot is heavy then it doesn’t tip and fall on the floor, should I cut some of the branches off to make it light I don’t want to repot as I just got them and I’m a newbie at all of this . Thanks all

You could put a sort of stick deep into the soil next to the base of the plant, and use a plant-friendly, thick piece of rope/plant tape/tie to support the piece that is leaning. A stick thats as tall as the plant would be best.

Thanks Marlee, much appreciated, I’ll try that. Additionally, would it make sense to cut some of the heavier branches ?

I am also pretty new to plants, so take my info with a grain of salt, but i had to do that with my Mini Roses so i atleast know that part lol. As far as cutting, idk what plant you have, but my immediate thought would be to leave it alone-unless theres signs of distress or becoming unhealthy from it leaning, or if the heavy part is literally breaking from the weight. Then id cut it below the break.

There appears to be two issues: 1) the plant is top heavy and leaning from growing towards the light source. 2) the pot is too light to hold the plant down as the water dries out of the soil. 1) You can help the plant go vertical by strapping it to bamboo poles or a board. You can cut off the most bendy parts. But, you wouldn’t need to cut it when it’s strapped. Use plant Velcro tape. You will need to rotate the plant every couple of days to keep it growing upwards instead of sideways toward the light source. You can add grow lights to the plant to spread out the light in the darker back areas. 2) Use a heavier outer pot with this current pot to weigh it down. It shouldn’t be too deep to keep good air circulation around the soil to help it dry out faster. I have used ceramic, terracotta and cement outer pots with tall plants that keep toppling over. I hoyas on tall trellises that blow over during rain storms without the heavy outer pots. I take out the original pot to water and put it back later when well drained.🪴🍀

Thank you Sunny greatly appreciated, unfortunately I got very worried as I saw a quarter size round hole in the pot I filled it up with soil and it came back the next day . I freaked out as it’s likely some kind of huge insect or field mouse so I tried having it repotted but it was doing even worst after repotting so I gave it to my sister. Hopefully she will be able to keep it alive 😢
