Help!! I don’t know if I’m overwatering or underwatering this, but a lot of the leaves on top have become crumbly and fallen off. I was previously giving it a lot of water, so maybe it was too much? Or maybe not enough, I have no idea

Always check the soil to determine if it needs water before watering. Don’t randomly add water or follow a strict watering schedule to avoid over watering. The leaves and stems will start to rot when overwatered. It could be low light on top of the plant causing the leaves near the soil to die off. The spider plant babies are also casting a shadow onto the plant. One or two is not a problem. A curtain of them can block light that a large plant like this tradescantia needs. I recommend moving the spider plant higher or elsewhere. Adding a grow light above and around the plant can help. It could be inconsistent watering causing the leaves to go dry near the soil. Water when the soil dries. A future problems can be the weight of the plant causing the vines to break at the rim of the pot while it hands. Some of mine broke off and rooted itself outside. 😁🪴🍀

That type of tradescantia dies off naturally. Best to cut and propagate living pieces right back into the top soil
