My outdoor rose bush. Lots of eaten leaves. I removed some stems with aphids but not sure what this fly is and what's actually eating my leaves

It’s hard to identify the types of insects are creating those large circular cuts into the leaves. It could be caterpillars, cut worms are several others. I don’t know about the rest.
2 LikesWhere I live N of Dallas in Texas, that would be June bugs for sure. They LOVE my roses. They eat the leaves and buds.🙄 If someone could find the toad’s alarm clock and ring it already, that would be great!!😄 For us, it only stops when the toads come out and eat them. But my rose bush doesn’t really care, just me.🤪
1 LikePersonally I ignore the aphids because they don’t make a dent in my outside plants. The ants are farming them and will just bring them back up there to new branches anyway. If they are causing a problem, you can spray with something instead of cutting off the branch. Unless it’s heavily diseased of course, then the branch would need to be cut off.
