Almost all of my indoor pothos have little holes/injuries. Any idea what this is? I’ve looked all over and I don’t see any kind of bugs but some of them look like chomps to me.

Could be wear if in a public place, stab wounds, pests, or under watering.

Could under watering still be an issue if they’re growing in water?

If you don’t see bugs and they’re in water… my thought is light damage. Are they in direct sun or too close to a grow light..?

I do not have a grow light and most are scattered in my bedroom with a little sun from my window. The plant closest to the window is probably 3 feet away. I worry about too little sun so I set them on my balcony once a week so they can soak some rays! The balcony isn’t necessarily direct sun but in the early afternoon it does get bright. I mist them as planta tells me to as well, I read that this can cause small holes as the water acts almost like a magnifier in the sun. Not sure if this is my situation though, some leaves have pretty big holes and slits- could that still apply?

As long as the water touches all the roots you're okay on that fron

my mind went to mechanical damage when i first saw it. the misting would make sense, i would try misting at night and see if the holes stop developing! on another hand, it looks like u have a pothos and a pholodendron, either brasil or cream splash, though im not sure about the exact variety. philos have the sheath that protect the new growth, and pothos do not :)

I’ll try the night misting that sounds like a good idea! Excuses my lack of plant knowledge… could you break that last part down I’m not sure what it means

dont worry about it, we're all learning here! this is my philodendron micans, and you can see the red/pinkish sheath that the new leaf has grown out of! the second picture shows one that is drying up! when it eventually gets fully crispy, i gently pluck them off. pothos dont have this, im not sure what their growth pattern is, as i dont have one. hopefully this helps, LMK if you need more info!!

This was very helpful I see now! I noticed the leaves were different but in all honesty I thought they were all the same plant!🤣 I’ll add this to my (short) list of plant knowledge!

there are so many similar looking variaties of plants, its hard to tell the difference!! sometimes theyre so small that the only way to tell the two apart is the flowers!
