Hi all my Alocasia Elephant ear is acting up- she is placed in a spot that gets indirect sun throughout the day and I always wait for her to dry out before watering- should I cut off this leaf? She’s only got the one leaf. Im wondering if maybe the pot is too big? I added a photo with flash to see the color of the spots better. Thank youuu!!

I had one of these. For over a year and I kept the soil. Moist all the time. From what I understood the plant liked it. However, I did end up losing the plant eventually.

Looks like a fungal or bacterial issue. Are you misting the leaf?

I’d keep it away from all your other plants and don’t touch another plant after touching this one or use tools that are contaminated. If this were my plant it would already be wrapped in a ziplock bag and in the garbage. Don’t put it in the yard waste. You need to check your other plants regularly even if you toss this.

I don’t grow alocasia but from what if heard they don’t like to dry out. However from what I’ve seen they start to crisp around the edges first and then inward. This look different than anything I’ve seen.

Thank you so much everyone! Y’all are most likely right so to protect my other plants and my sanity I’m gonna let this one go ……away to the garbage. Thanks y’all!!!

I was just watching a video about alocasia and the person was talking about making the mistake of giving hers too much fertilizer. The leaves look kinda similar. Do you think it’s over fertilizing?
