I’ve had this snake plant for a few years. Recently the leaves started pulling out. I have no idea what the root system in these looks like but I’d say it was overwatered and started to rot which is why the leaves are just pulling out of the soul. I’m going to repot it, probably in the same pot but I need some advice. Maybe a step by step guide. Should I throw these leaves out or are the salvageable
Make a triangular cut at the bottom of the leaves that fell off! I had a similar situation with my snake plant a few years ago, I just cut off the discoloration and popped them in water and they rooted! For the main plant, I would probably try to up-pot it. Snake plants love to be root bound, but if it messing with the drainage then you need a bigger pot. A more draining soil and watching when you are watering it should help the over watering. For the rot, if it continues it destroy the plant it may not be save-able, but in the picture it looks good!

I've had my snake plant for over two decades. I water it maybe once a month if that. Very snug pot well draining soil.
1 likeYou can propagate the plant from cuttings. I followed the instructions from a few YouTube videos. The plant itself is very prolific and vigorous. Perhaps you can consider splitting it.
