I also a philodendron who has crispy bits in her leaves and she doesnât seem to want to grow much more than this. Iâve had her for a solid 8 months or so and she doesnât seem to thrive anywhere I put her. Any recommendations??

Mine likes low light , I put her in the window sill one time and she got a lil crispy ! I would put it at least 7-8 ft from the window đ

Itâs a slow grower in its current environment. The dry bits look like pest damage based on the pattern and what looks like residue or insect feces on the stem and leaves. The dry spots are mostly near the stems and not the yellowing leaves or wide areas of browning starting from the leaf tips/edges commonly seen with watering issues. Do, I donât think itâs a watering problem. I would also rule out low humidity issues since only 2 leaves are affected. The rest of the plant looks great. A plant needs the basic: light, water and fertilizer/nutrients to thrive. Iâm guessing itâs not a watering issue. It could be insufficient light. The leaves on the left are reaching hard towards the light source. The ones on the right look limp. I believe the plant needs more light. I have 2 large Brasils. They get 3 hours of direct light at sunrise and the last 2 hours of direct sunlight at sunset when the sun rays are less intense. They get bright indirect light the rest of the day under my covered patio. They got 12 hours from a grow light when I kept them inside during winter. See the picture. Mine needs water. You can see the puckered leaves and the leaf tips starting to curl under when they need water. Fertilizing every two weeks with 50 percent diluted liquid fertilizer is needed in the growing season, warmer months. I use blue MiracleGro and add SuperThrive plant vitamins. Iâm on the Gulf coast. My humidity levels are about 50% to 60% on a dry day in summer. đđŞ´
