I planted my new Rosa Radsunny 2-weeks ago, and I made the mistake of watering everyday for the first 8 days. It’s rained an additional 3 days. I overwatered and I’m not sure if this is salvageable, any advice for a new plant dad?

It looks under watered. I would cut off the dead bits until you find sap inside the branches. Water and fertilizer when the soil dries out. It should put out new leaves if the sap still flows and the roots are intact. 🪴🍀🌹
4件のいいねI agree…not sure why the leaves are crispy if it has been overwatered but I zoomed in and did see some green branches so trim off the dead and get it fertilized. Roses tend to be much hardier than people think. I dug out a bunch of rose bushes that were just old and gnarly last year. This year I had 6 new starts coming up just from small roots that were left in the ground. Good luck!

いいね 1件If the stem is firm, I would say it’s not over-watered. Roses LOVE water in my experience! I would suggest it’s in shock. It may seem to be struggling for the rest of the summer, but if you water it deeply every week or so once the dry spell hits, it should do fine. If it goes more than a week without a good, deep rain before that hot and dry summer begins, I’d help it out with a nice drink. Early mornings are best for watering. Let the soil soak it up before the sun has a chance to start evaporating it all away. Trim the dry leaves and branches back to a firm green node, and wait patiently. I wouldn’t worry. Roses tend to be extremely hardy plants.

I personally would dig it up and inspect the rootball
