Brand new plant mom here. I’m trying to balance doing the right thing but not doing too much to help this monstera flourish. She’s barely surviving, but definitely not thriving. 😩 What can I do for her? House is around 68-70 degrees currently with AC on, but she’s not near where the cool air blows. I repotted her into a tropical soil from miracle gro about a week after she was delivered. Soil is between dry/moist on my moisture meter. TIA!

How long have you had the plant? It could be adjusting to your home still. How did the roots look when you repotted her?

Roots looked great. Just a couple of weeks and she shipped from Texas. I am in Michigan.

Pot looks a bit big for that size monstera, also soil not very good draining mix, best add some perlite and other bits, but in a smaller pot unless it was root bound in previous pot, but should only increase size of pot by a couple inches ever wize there is a chance of getting root rot, also doesn’t look like that pot has any drainage

Also can’t quite tell but is the bite marks on leaf, if so give it a shower with lukewarm water and give the leaves a wipe will doing so, pests normally hid under leaves and in any crevices , when doing this find a plastic bag and try wrapping around top of pot to stop to much water going into pot, then change soil but leave out the top 2 inches of soil just in case any pests falling into it

Soil is very well draining tropical mix and I have pebbles in the bottom to promote more draining. Bite marks are my idiot cat. 🙄😑

Try giving it more light. My old monstera gets full sun in the morning and evening on my covered deck. It gets partial shade from the intense midday sun. Repotting too soon after changing environments can add stress as the plant adjusts. Repotting to a pot too big can cause overwatering from too much water in the soil that the plant can’t use up before it roots rot. The new pot should be at most 2 inches wider than the previous pot. 🪴🍀

Don’t fully rely on a moisture meter. Verify the soil has dried out with your finger, a wooden meat skewer or a chopstick. 🪴🍀
