   ugh i got a white version of whatever this fungus is on one of my potato plants. I removed it but the plant fell over — not sure what will happen, if anything, to the potatoes/plant

   That looks like dog vomit slime mould. It is not harmful to humans or plants and it should disappear on its own.

   It’s natural, don’t stress it. Just care for the sapling like its not there at all
