Help! I found gnats (probably fungus gnats) in my new pothos plant and I found one flying around my bonsai!

I got tired of the yellow sticky pads sticking to me and my plants tearing them apart. This has worked PERIOD. I tried bottom watering but I like to make sure they get fully watered instead of under watered🫤it’s tough for plant owners. I’m not big on setting the traps bc I don’t want to catch the gnats or see them ever again. This eliminated them altogether.

I use mosquito bits and the sticky traps on Amazon. The traps catch the adult gnats and the bits take care of any larva that hatches. I had this issue because of a plant that was gifted to me had root rot. It can’t also happen because of overwatering/ soil staying wet for too long. I recently got a few new babies and one has gnats so it seems like a never ending issue 🥲

I use BTI drops when I water. one or two drops per gallon of water and use every single time you water every single plant. it kills the larvae in your soil so stops the cycle. I also have a plug-in insect trap that catches any adults that happen to fly in the house (plus other dumb bugs too, haha). I have over 50 plants and zero gnats!

I use this one too and it eliminated my gnat problem. After a few weeks I was able to stop putting out sticky traps.
