Found these all over my pumpkin plants today , are these causing my pumpkins to wither and how can I get rid of them?

I tried looking them up they look like squash bugs. Amazon or a local garden center might have a pesticide that will get rid of them

0 LikesThey are the nymphs of squash bugs. The adults look like skinny stink bugs. Insecticides can’t kill the adults. But, it can kill the nymphs. Neem oil can kill the nymphs. You need to hurry to get rid of them before they mature to the adult stage. Get rid of ALL the eggs or they will keep producing nymphs. Pluck off the adults without smashing them. The nymphs and adults stink when crushed. Use old school methods of drowning them in soapy water. The other old school methods was to collect the adults in coffee cans, douse with lighter fluid or other accelerants and burn them down wind. We are all ecologically minded, now. So, I wouldn’t recommend burning them. 😬 Good luck!🍀🪴

1 LikeYou’re welcome. Note that the eggs lay dormant over winter under dead leaves and debris. It’s important to clear out all the dead plant material before winter or the next generation of squash bugs will return next year.

0 LikesAs everyone mentioned Squash Bugs. This is a severe case, eradicate them immediately. They suck the nutrients out creating that yellow color and then brown thus dying. They can introduce rot to the plants and reduce yield considerably. Many RTU Sprays can do the job or get a a concentrate and do your own mix. I recommend Neem Oil
