Any ideas on what's happened to my croton?? It was fine one day, floppy the next. I've had the heating on quite a lot, and have been slacking on misting... It's also sitting in a single glazed window with gaps, and the temperature has been about 5° or less recently... I'm thinking it must be one or the other? Thanks!

Agreed that it could be dry. When you stick your finger in the soil, is it wet, damp, or dry? I doubt that pausing on misting caused any harm; misting is fine but only temporarily increases local humidity for a few minutes.

The topsoil is damp, so I think not dryness :/

Where do you live? Is the heat on all day? If the heat is on the air is going to be dry and humidity can be a real issue. I don't have any Croton but I keep a humidifier in the winter for my plants. Crotons are also sensitive to temperature changes so you might want to move it farther from the window but then you have less light and crotons like lots of light, so you might want to get a grow light if you can.

I've been guilty of not running the humidifier lately, and the heating has been on more...I've moved it from the window, Hopefully it revives 🤞🤞

Remember, soil moisture is not the same as air moisture. You have to work at getting both of them right for a croton to be happy.

I agree. I had one that sat in an East facing window that looked like this when the temperature dropped and it got a chill. Unfortunately, it did not survive after the cold exposure 😢
