Hi there! How do I cure thrips? My Dieffenbachia seguine and my Blushing Philodendron are currently infestedâŠ. Iâve given them both a rinse with warm water in the shower but I was hoping for something more effective. Thanks!

You can wipe or spray the plant with insecticidal soap and place some diatomaceous earth around the soil. Do this every week for about a month so you kill all them that are on different life stages.
1 gillaI use 3% hydrogen peroxide, 4 cups to a gallon of water/fertilizer/whatever else you use. That was a suggestion made to me by one of the members in Planta. Itâs sooooo much easier than using yellow stickies, (theyâre horrible, donât do that or youâll go insaneđ”âđ«) and I was told that the oxygen in hydrogen peroxide is very beneficial to plants. There doesnât seem to be a downside and Iâve been using it for a while and no more fungus gnats. You canât beat that! Good luck! đđđȘŽ
1 gillaI sprayed with Captain Jacks weekly for three weeks and treated the soil with systemic. Now, Iâll refresh the systemic every two months (as instructed). Be very sure to spray front and back of leaves and try to clean around the area where the plants live. I also cut off any affected leaves (because the babies live in that tissue).
