You can wipe or spray the plant with insecticidal soap and place some diatomaceous earth around the soil. Do this every week for about a month so you kill all them that are on different life stages.
1 LikeI use 3% hydrogen peroxide, 4 cups to a gallon of water/fertilizer/whatever else you use. That was a suggestion made to me by one of the members in Planta. Itās sooooo much easier than using yellow stickies, (theyāre horrible, donāt do that or youāll go insanešµāš«) and I was told that the oxygen in hydrogen peroxide is very beneficial to plants. There doesnāt seem to be a downside and Iāve been using it for a while and no more fungus gnats. You canāt beat that! Good luck! šššŖ“
1 LikeI sprayed with Captain Jacks weekly for three weeks and treated the soil with systemic. Now, Iāll refresh the systemic every two months (as instructed). Be very sure to spray front and back of leaves and try to clean around the area where the plants live. I also cut off any affected leaves (because the babies live in that tissue).
