Help I’m struggling with my peperomia :( I think I may have under watered it and the leaves yellowed. For the last few weeks I’ve tried watering more consistently but all the leaves and new shoots are dropping. Last time I watered there were little jumping bugs so I treated the soil with 1 part hydrogen peroxide and 4 parts water. Don’t know if that was the issue, but I’m panicking!

What a beautiful plant!! I love the leaf shape. 😍 As a non expert but plant lover, I think it could be overwatered. Usually when overwatered leaves turn yellow or mushy, and when underwatered the edges get crispy /brown. Now every plant is different, but as we move into fall / winter, this could just be a part of its dormancy period. And if so I would air on the side of underwatering. If you can you may wanna check out the roots to see if there’s root rot or it’s in too dense soil. But it definitely does not look at the point of no return - i would let it be for a few weeks and then see if it recovers or gets worse. Truly a gorgeous plant! I hope all goes well 💚

I agree with Phoebe here. Yellow leaves tend to mean overwatering, especially with the raindrop peperomia. From my experience with mine, you’ll want to be extra careful to let the soil dry out completely, and to get it back in shape a little faster, you could try giving it a better draining soil mix. All my peperomias are in a mix of 70% Espoma’s All-Purpose Mix and 30% Espoma’s Cactus and Succulent mix. You could also do something similar with an all purpose mix and added perlite and orchid bark. The raindrop peperomia is also susceptible to edema. One thing I would want you to check is that the number of days that Planta recommends that you wait before you water it matches the number it gives when you look the plant up through the ID search. I’m currently beta testing for the app and there has been a very common glitch that makes the app say to water your plant much earlier than you should. If they don’t match, you can remedy this by changing your watering to a “custom watering schedule” and making it match the ID search. It’s something that’s affected 80% of my plant collection and I’ve had to manually check all of my plants at the start of each month to make sure the app isn’t overwatering them. It’s a really unfortunate glitch, but I’ve reported it quite a few times now, so I’m hoping it gets remedied soon, and try to give the heads up when I can. Hope this helps!

Yes yes. Adrian is giving good advice. And about the app, I have the opposite problem. The app is suggesting too long between watering for most of my succulents. I water when plant is wrinkled and/or soft.
