UPDATE: I asked my plant AI app and it said root rot and what to do. I cut off the rotten part of the root and all the dead leaves and I'm letting it callous over and I'll repot it. We'll see what happens. I don't know how it happened because I always let the soil completely dry out. 🤷‍♀️ This plant wasn't doing well so I took it out of the pot to check. What the heck??? PS it's a tiger aloe.

please do not use generative AI. it is harmful to the environment. but yes, cut off the dead or dying roots and let it callous. you may also treat it with hydrogen peroxide, which is not harmful to the plant and will prevent the growth of fungus or mold. then, pot it in fresh soil. aloe is a very, very low needs plant. planta loves to generate schedules that will lead to overwatering. water only when the leaves become squishy when you pinch them, and always check before you water.
