Where the pothos was clipped is dark brown/black. Should I be concerned? Should i cut that part? ( second picture is a couple weeks old)

I may be wrong but that just looks like scabbing on the cutting (which is a good thing!) I could be totally wrong but thatās what it looks like to me.

If your plant didnāt fully callous after it was cut from the plant before putting it into the water, this may just be a bit of rot! Which isnāt a concern since the roots are happy, shouldnāt affect the plant at all. You could cut it, but itāll do that again if itās not left to callous for a couple hours!
3 LikesHow do I let it callous? This was given as a gift. So I no nothing lol all of you are my information givers haha

To let it callous just need to leave it sitting somewhere outside of the water for a couple hours after cutting! I donāt know the exact amount of time necessary, but youāll be able to tell itās calloused by the cut portion almost looking scabbed. I wish I could describe it better. But itāll look different then when you first cut itš
3 LikesGotcha. You explained it perfectly š this little thing has me on here asking new questions every day basically š¤£š¤£ thank you!!

nope this happens to my pothos too. as long as itās not mushy, youāre good to go!
1 LikeTo me it doesnāt feel mushy. someone on Reddit told me to use a little hydrogen peroxide have you heard of or tried that?

yes. thatās only for root rot. you donāt need to. if it ever gets mushy, or another prop, cut it to where it isnāt, let it soak for a couple mins in 3:1 peroxide and water. then let it callus.

itās totally preference. my aunt has one in water thatās been trailing. i just know soil provides nutrients so if we keep in water, weāll need to find the best fertilizer. happy growing!

I think the extra bit of stem below where the roots are growing from will just rot in the water. Iād cut off whatever is below the roots. Iād also leave it in water a bit longer to get some secondary roots before moving to soil
1 LikeMy intent is to leave it in water. In hopes itāll grow more vines
0 LikesI do feed it fertilizer
